This has been suggested in the past...and it has recently been suggested again. But this time i'm just going to go to you all.
Should we keep this a Super Smash Bros Forum, or should we change it slightly to something else? Let's all face it.. this place is dying fast.. especially with noone even wanting to brawl anymore or anything. Tourney's is dead, SSB discussion is dead. Only thing we do around here is chill, RP, and bitch.
So The suggestion is to wipe the slate "clean" Leave the RP alone, but move alot of our usual stuff into an archive folder (some will be put in the museum) and alot of the sections will be replaced by things that you all choose. Could be other games, could be anime. You all would be able to call the shots as far as what you think we should bring to the table.
So...is this an idea people would enjoy, or should we leave the site as is?

I agree that reorganization is in order.
A general anime/video games forum would fit much better into the newer motion we are going towards.
But in doing this, the RP may actually need reorganization as well, spreading itself out to more than just SSB as well. It must change as the site does, after all.

I think broadening our horizons may bring more people to the site, and the Brawl aspect of the forum is kinda dead at the moment. Waiting for the next SSB to come out without doing anything may result in this place dying completely, so I'm all for a change of scenery.
Will this require a clean wipe, with everyone's accounts at 0 posts and a new url?

if SSB4 comes out it will be our duty to open up a section for it.
No, i'm thinking we should leave the site as is... keep people with the post counts they've got. I mean if it's an extreme case then OK....cause yeah the URL may screw us over. It's not something i am FOR but i wouldn't be against it either.
In short...if we NEED a new forum entirely i'll set one up but i'd rather not unless that's the only avenue

That sounds good to me. I agree, we REALLY don't need to change the URL and make a new board, but if we must, so be it. It sounds like a good move, and as always if you need help I can always help ya out Ghost.

by the way this is just the motion to set things into action. There will be other threads asking for what all people think should be added later that isn't definite at this point the only thing this is doing is asking if we should change or not. We'll get to the exacts of what and when later in another thread

I think it needs some slight updates. like adding other boards. for example rather than a general topics we should have a Soprts board with sub boards being Basketball(NBA) ;D Football(NFL) Baseball(MLB) Hockey(NHL)...you get the idea.

The only problem with this is.. Super Smash Bros is the like one thing we ALL have in common, other than gaming. I mean, 75% of us like anime, and 65% like this, and.. you know.. I would want the site to be based after something.. everyone could agree. I mean, like Sour just posted it made me worry. I don't know if I would want to be on certain types of sites.. like a Call of Duty site. [I'm aware that suggestion was thrown out, just using it as a reffy] so.. yeah, don't change it to much okay guys? Keep it something everyone will want to stay for.  |

I'm all for the re-do Ghost. We need to do something before this site totally dies out. Let's get some fresh new stuff into this site guys. However like Angel said, we need to be themed after something. I think we should stick with a general Nintendo theme since its extremely close to smash bros. If you need any help setting stuff up or moving things around Ghost, I'm here. Just give me a ring. COD sucks!!. GTFO of here!! |
