I notice people have been posting a lot lately, and those don't contribute to the topic at all. Before, it was fine, noone cared about the post count. But now, we have the Advanced Members Board, it requires 300 posts to get into. The problem with that is that any noob can just spam 300 posts and get right in. I say we should disable post count for the "intros" sub category as just a start. People greet others just to raise their post count, even though they know most of them leave within the next day. I'd also like to ask for people to be keener about their own posts and mods about other's. In a thread that says someone's grandma died, there shouldn't be posts saying "get over it" or something. Or a game on it's questions. The first posts explains how to play, the second post is a member asking "how do you play"? And the "Thread Games" section, it's piratically the spam section, with post count added. Someone could make a game, then reply every someone else posts just to say "WRONG" or "CORRECT" These are just some suggestions, feel free to discuss.
TL;DR-The advanced members board is for advanced members, but a noob could easily spam up 300 posts. Do something.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention Sleaman. Posting is nice, and contributing to the community is nice, but when you spam it up with useless post and hurtful words.. then we would rather you didn't say anything at all.

He and I will quote something and put This. and everything like that also in thread games you really cant "contribute" such as the Movies A-Z you just post the movie, you dont write a review on it I am guilty of this as well, however I usually add more to the discussion beyond simply agreement. But SLE has a very good point. Now that there exists a board which is solely for those with 300 or more posts (sort of like an award), we need to enforce posters to not spam but rather maintain the subject instead of using it to ask how others are doing or to state the obvious. |

Post counts to get into something is truly pointless. The advanced members board... What's in that's so special? Ummm.... Nothing really. All we do in there is discuss decisions with the staff, which isn't really something you should need post counts to get into. It just creates more dumb one word posts. So why not just open it? There couldn't be that much harm.
People shouldn't need a certain amount of posts to get into ANYTHING really. Give me a good reason post counts to get into the advanced members board is a good thing.
Now to the whole post count raising in general. Anyone who sees a post that's stupid and shouldn't be there should just show a mod it and have them delete it. Seriously guys...

or we could just password protect the board and give out the password to anyone who has finnaly reached 300, and we know its not a noob. >.>

No, we don't need any need mods for it, it's all pretty silly if you ask me. If we really want, regardless of post counts (perhaps to a degree) we give the board a password and only let people in who truely made those X amount of posts instead of typing "lolz" in all your posts. I find it funny how NBA posted here three times.  |
