Gambit
Reason:
He is, potentially, one of the most powerful mutants ever introduced to the series. Gambit is constantly mutating, making his powers stronger and stronger. It got to the points that he accidentally burned the entire world. Cable had to go back in time and attempt to assassinate Gambit in order to make things right before he lost control. Of course he failed, but thats a little too much for a simple explanation.
In short, Gambit = awesome

I like Toad, sure he might not be the strongest, smartest, or biggest threat, but his powers look TOTALLY fun, I mean, stretching your tongue to incredible lengths, jumping amazing heights, climbing on walls in some variations, and jumping from miles into the air to land on someone's back, very cool.
